The AX Music Series is pleased to present acoustic blues and roots duo, award-winning singer-songwriter, Mike Biggar and longtime guitarist, blues slide master, Grant Heckman. Mike Biggar is a celebrated live performer with the undeniably soulful imprint of a history baptized in a gospel music upbringing. Biggar’s onstage style is a potent tonic of gutsy, joyful, and evocative. Soaring vocals steam down the line like a runaway roots-music freight train, fused with his award-winning songwriting and infectious melodies. His music is punctuated with a disarming humour and genuineness that is distinct, effective, and even a bit spiritual. His albums have received numerous East Coast Music Association (ECMA) and Music NB Awards, including ‘Blues Album of the Year’.
