I Can Sew with Dina Ohkrimenko

Monday, March 4 – This March break course will cover the basics of learning how to sew by hand. Participants will learn to:
– Thread a needle and tie it off
– Learn a straight stitch
– Practice smaller stitches
– Learn to sew on buttons
These skills will be used to make a pin cushion to hold your pins and needles. All materials will be provided.

Artful Collage with Ed Tribe

Tuesday, March 5 – Join me, Ed Tribe, for a morning of crafty fun as I guide you step-by-step through creating your very own collage masterpiece. We will select materials – paper and embellishments – while discussing inspiration and design ideas. Finally I will guide you through gluing together a beautiful collage piece for each participant to bring home with them!

Needle Felting with Alison Murphy

Wednesday, March 6 –  Come and join me, Alison Murphy, for a morning of felting and fun. In this class I will walk you through the step-by-step process of creating your own needle felted floral landscape. This two-dimensional dry felting technique is easy to learn and relaxing to practice. We will also discuss various animal fibers and their properties and learn about blending coloured wool. At the end of the class you will have a small needle felted piece to take home with you! No experience necessary.
Please note: This technique requires the use of a sharp needle and children may poke themselves if they are not paying close attention. I will do my best to impart the need for mindfully focusing on their work, but if your child is accident prone or is unable to sit calmly and focus on small precise tasks, it may not be the next class for them.

Ceramics Decoration

Painting with Fabiola Martinez

Friday, March 8 – You are invited to join the viusal artist Fabiola Martinez for a mixed media workshop and explore the magic of acrylics, molding paste, stencils, sand, real objects and more! You’ll learn fun techniques to create abstract compositions with texture and depth.
