About Christopher Porter
Christopher Porter is a fine art photographer based in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia who has travelled the world documenting the human landscape. Moments and encounters transformed into connection and intimacy. Known for his mastery of light, composition, and thematic tension, his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group shows, and is in private collections in Canada, US, France, England, and Germany. His images have also been showcased by Lens Culture, Aperture, Photographer’s Forum, B&W International, and Art Basal.

“When I first picked up a camera, I went to Paris and was standing in the streets, excited to photograph the world when I realized that I had no idea what I wanted to shoot. What I wanted to say? To show?  I put the camera down and wandered for days, went to galleries, sat in cafes and looked and watched. Finally, I realized I just had to start. I had to learn how to see. Soon after that trip, I threw away all the images I made there, and started.”
