Join local professional artist Bonny Hill as she introduces you to the art of abstract painting over the course of three Sunday afternoons at AX. You will review basic colour theory to create a custom colour palette and will also experiment with different acrylic mediums such as modelling paste and gloss gel mediums. During each session, participants will learn and practice new skills on small, sample canvases. You will then apply your new-found skills to one large canvas over the course of the three sessions.

Class 1, April 25: In the first class, you will review basic colour theory and create a custom colour palette to apply to several canvas boards using dirty pour approaches.

Class 2, May 2: In this class, you will use acrylic paints with acrylic mediums like polymer emulsion, modelling paste, and gloss gel medium to add surface interest to several small canvas boards.

Class 3, May 16: In the final class, you will continue with experimental approaches in glazing and impasto using squirt bottles, palette knives and pouring techniques.
