Artist in Residence – Alex Fieldhouse

Alexandra Fieldhouse is a ceramic artist based in New Brunswick whose work explores the relationship between nature, function, and the quiet rituals of everyday life. Inspired by botanical motifs and organic patterns, she creates pottery with intricate surface designs that bring a sense of nature’s rhythm into functional objects, making them feel both grounding and timeless. Her multidisciplinary approach weaves together handbuilding, wheel throwing, carving, painting, and printmaking, allowing her to push the boundaries of her craft.

During her residency at AX, Alex is creating a new body of work that merges linocutting with ceramics, experimenting with stamped motifs and layered surface decoration. Alex holds a Diploma in Ceramics and a Visual Arts Certificate from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design. Alongside her studio explorations, Alex will be leading workshops on slab building, throwing and surface design. Inviting the community to play with clay, pattern, and personal expression.
