The AX Centre is pleased to welcome Brent Mason as part of our ongoing AX Music
Series.
Brent is a Saint John-based songwriter and acoustic guitar player who has been performing for 25 years. He has just released his 10th album (High Water Mark) and has been nominated for, and/or won ECMA and Music NB awards, including MNB folk/roots recording of the year in 2012.
Brent has toured the UK four imes, and played across Canada and in the US. He’s a storyteller and a prolific writer who values words immensely and crafts vivid images of our human experience in his songs. Brent has played many major festivals in the region including Harvest Jazz and Blues. He heads up a very talented band, and since 1992, Brent has hosted a legendary open stage in Saint John. He also facilitates song workshops in high schools in southern NB. Brent is considered the “Godfather of folk music in Saint John”.
