Exhibition Proposals

While our deadline to receive proposals for the 2023/24 exhibition season has now passed, we are happy to receive proposals from professional artists and curators all year round.

AX, the Arts and Culture Centre of Sussex, encourages emerging, mid-career, and senior professional artists to submit a proposal for consideration for a future exhibition. Artists of all media and curators with an exhibition proposal are invited to apply. Exhibitions are selected by a rotating panel of respected artists and art educators knowledgeable in the discipline involved, and the panel meets annually to review current proposals.

AX hosts approximately 6 – 8 exhibitions a year and we are committed to developing, supporting and promoting exhibition opportunities and experiences for New Brunswick artists. In choosing exhibitions, we seek a balance of established and emerging artists, exhibiting works from our community and beyond. AX is also dedicated to exhibiting children’s art and student work created in local-area schools and through our own programming.

AX strives to pay fair compensation to artists based on national standards, and we include CARFAC fees in our exhibition grant applications.
