About the Artist
Michael Wood is a New Brunswick-based ceramic artist known for his gestural forms and a refined palette of black, white, and ecru. His work bridges function and sculpture, drawing inspiration from geology, identity, and the natural world. Symbolism features prominently in his pieces, often incorporating antlers, trees, and other organic motifs.
Michael’s artistic journey blends self-directed learning with formal training — he holds a Diploma in Ceramics and a Visual Arts Certificate from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) and is currently pursuing a BFA in sculpture at Mount Allison University.
