Join artist Kayla Collins for a plein air watercolour workshop set against the picturesque backdrop of the Salmon River Covered Bridge as part of Love Your Bridges Days. Presented in partnership by AX and the Sussex & District Chamber of Commerce, this outdoor painting experience invites participants to capture the beauty and character of one of the area’s most beloved landmarks.
Built in 1908, the Salmon River Covered Bridge (officially Kennebecasis River No. 7.5) is a historic Howe truss bridge that now serves as a scenic roadside park. Surrounded by natural beauty and rich local history, it provides the perfect setting for learning the fundamentals of plein air watercolour painting.
Under Kayla’s guidance, participants will explore techniques for painting landscapes, architecture, light, and atmosphere while enjoying the unique experience of creating art outdoors. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with the landscape, and celebrate Sussex’s historic covered bridges through creativity.
