Book Description

A Glacier’s Guide to Dying by Michelle Porter is a powerful and imaginative novel that follows Robbie, a young Métis man searching for his missing father while navigating family trauma, identity, and the growing impacts of climate change. As he journeys toward a remote glacier, Robbie begins hearing the voice of the glacier itself, blurring the boundaries between the natural world, memory, and inheritance. Blending humour, Indigenous storytelling, and contemporary concerns, the novel explores themes of belonging, healing, family, and humanity’s relationship with the land.
