About the Workshop

Join us at AX for a subtractive drawing class with artist Ashley Henwood. During this class students will expand their drawing skills with subtractive drawing. This technique uses an eraser as the drawing tool on a charcoal covered page. Rather than focusing on line, subtractive drawing encourages artists to observe light and shadow to create an image. It can add texture, establish tonal shapes, and it challenges artists with how they approach a drawing. This class is open to all drawing levels for individuals aged 12+.

Ashley Henwood is a local emerging artist whose inspiration comes from her rural NB homescape. She is currently the Programming Coordinator at AX.
