Ages 6-8 | Wednesday & Thursday
Ages 9-13 | Friday
10am-12pm | $20-$30 per day, per student

Join us this summer for 9 weeks of fun at AX! Starting June 25 until August 22 we will offer workshops for kids ages 6-8 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and workshops for ages 9-13 every Friday. We will have a variety of workshops available ranging from $20-30 with all materials provided.

*Please note, parents of students aged 6-8, please pack a snack for break time*

Schedule

Week 1: 

Wednesday, June 25, 2025: Mixed Media Pointillism: Students ages 6-8 will create their own image using a variety of mediums, either by following a pre prepared guide or freehand.
Thursday, June 26, 2025: Watercolour: Students ages 6-8 will practice basic watercolour techniques to prepare them to create their own work of art.
Friday, June 27, 2025: Watercolour: Students ages 9-13 will be shown a brief overview of watercolor techniques and then created their own work of art.

Week 2:

Wednesday, July 2, 2025: Acrylic Art Basics: Students aged 6-8 will follow the instructions of summer artist Kayla Collins in order to understand some of the fundamentals and techniques of colour and acrylic painting.
Thursday, July 3, 2025: Personal Art Gallery: Students ages 6-8 will be provided a template with picture frames to create their own personal foldable art gallery. 
Friday, July 4, 2025: Drawing Skills: Students aged 9-13 will follow the instructions of summer artist Kayla Collins in order to learn the basics of shading, sketching and graphite pencils usage and techniques.

Week 3: 

Wednesday, July 9, 2025: Sticker Making: Students aged 6-8 will use their imagination and creativity in order to create their own sticker sheets. 
Thursday, July 10, 2025: Paper Flowers: Students aged 6-8 will follow instructions in order to create their own bouquet of paper flowers. 
Friday, July 11, 2025: Paper Flowers: Students aged 9-13 will follow instructions in order to create their own bouquet of paper flowers.

Week 4:

Wednesday, July 16, 2025: Rock Painting: Students aged 6-8 will work on painting skills using an alternatively textured material- rocks. 
Thursday, July 17, 2025: Stamp Making: Students aged 6-8 will create stamps using a variety of provided materials as well as carving their own using age-appropriate tools. 
Friday, July 18, 2025: Lino Cutting: Students ages 9-12 will be provided with tools and instruction in order to safely carve their own stamps. 

Week 5:

Wednesday, July 23, 2025: Keychain Making: Students ages 6-8 will use shrinking paper in order to create their own functional keychains.
Thursday, July 24, 2025: Mosaic: Students aged 6-8 will follow a design and use provided materials to create their own mosaic art. 
Friday, July 25, 2025: Mosaic: Students aged 9-13 will create a mosaic stone using concrete, rocks, and paint. 

Week 6:

Wednesday, July 30, 2025: Friendship Bracelets: Students aged 6-8 will create their own friendship bracelets using a variety of knotting techniques
Thursday, July 31, 2025: Fairy Garden: Students aged 6-8 will create their own fairy garden by painting their pot and using their creativity to create furniture and landscaping with natural materials for their fairies. 
Friday, August 1, 2025: Fairy Garden: Students aged 9-13 will create their own fairy garden by painting their pot and using their creativity to create furniture and landscaping with natural materials for their fairies. 

Week 7: 

Wednesday, August 6, 2025: Faux Stained Glass: Students aged 6-8 will create a “stained glass” piece of art that reflects colour and light. 
Thursday, August 7, 2025: Acrylic Landscapes: Students aged 6-8 will create a Bob Ross-style landscape using simplified techniques and examples
Friday, August 8, 2025: Felting: Students aged 9-13 will learn needle safety and new techniques in order to create their own felted art piece. 

Week 8: 

Wednesday, August 13, 2025: Scrapbooking: Students aged 6-8 will be provided with a variety of art magazines in order to create their own collage page or vision board.
Thursday, August 14, 2025: Ceramic Tray Making: Students aged 6-8 will be taught ceramic carving, and underglaze techniques in order to create a unique ceramic tray. 
Friday, August 15, 2025: Ceramic Tray Making: Students aged 9-13 will be taught ceramic carving, and underglaze techniques in order to create a unique ceramic tray. 

Week 9: 

Wednesday, August 20, 2025: Yarn Art: Students aged 6-8 will use art in order to colour in a provided stencils or create their own original art. 
Thursday, August 21, 2025: Banner Embroidery: Students aged 6-8 will use a plastic needle and provided yarn/thread in order to create a banner with their name on it.
Friday, August 22, 2025: Embroidery: Students aged 9-13 will use needle safety and learn different embroidery stitches in order to create embroidered art.
