About the Instructor

I am a mixed media and mosaic artist who moved to the Maritimes in 2018, following work in Alberta in plant sciences and post-secondary education. Originally from Quebec, I am fluently bilingual (English, French). I have practiced mosaic part-time for over twenty years, teaching

from my studio in Calgary at Artpoint Studios, and in many colleges and communities. Surviving a health scare, I consciously chose to devote myself to the arts, stepping up my involvement in personal art, public art and teaching.

My focus is working with the rich geological and historical elements available on our doorstep, and working with larger scale work that is designed to withstand our harsh climate. I’ve learned about supportive arts organizations in the Maritimes. The Bay of Fundy has a huge impact on my work, so I strive to learn all I can about local geography and geology.

I am thrilled to have attended four art residencies so far, led a two week cultural mediation project and community murals, completed three outdoor commissions for NB communities, completed recreational teaching at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and other art centers, been juried in as a professional member of AAAPNB (Association of Professional Acadian Artists of New Brunswick) and Craft NB. and participated in international mosaic symposium and shows.

It has been a privilege to have five solo art shows to date, and participate in group shows. The path to becoming an artist later in life is full of twists and turns, and affords rich and unique connections with individuals and communities.
