About the Workshop
Join local printmaker Caitlin Wilson (Maplewood Studio) for a Holiday Card Workshop! This beginner-friendly workshop is ideal for creatives interested in learning more about printmaking.
Participants will learn the basics of screenprinting; a printing medium that employs photographic processes to create a stencil on a polyester screen. Participants will learn how to pull their own screenprint using a selection of holiday-themed images and pop-up templates, designed and prepared by Caitlin.
In addition to screenprinting, participants will be introduced to linocut printing, learning to carve their own miniature stamps, which they can use to decorate their cards and envelopes. The group will be welcome to experiment with Caitlin’s assortment of linocut stamps as well.
After, participants will assemble their cards, using either watercolour or drawing mediums to hand-colour their images.
At the end of the day, everyone will have created a unique set of cards to send out to their loved ones this holiday season.
